System requirements
- Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Disk space: ~150 MB for the application
- Microsoft Office: Not required. ReportForge works with
.xlsxfiles directly — you do not need Excel or Microsoft 365 installed. - Runtime: .NET 8 is bundled with the installer. No separate download needed.
Download and install
Chrome may flag the installer as a suspicious download because ReportForge is a new application. This is expected and does not indicate a security risk. Click the arrow on the download bar and choose Keep to save the file.
When you run the installer, Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning. Click More info, then click Run anyway to proceed. This warning disappears as more users install the application.
First launch
When you open ReportForge for the first time, a welcome screen walks you through the basics:

- Sample files are bundled with the installer: a Monthly Sales Summary template and a matching CSV data file. You can use these to try generating a report immediately.
From the welcome screen, click Try a Sample Report to import the sample files automatically, or click Get Started to begin with your own files.
